Aweber WordPress Integration Plugin
Aweber WordPress Integration Plugin let’s you allow your blog commentator and members to subscribe to your Aweber Mailing List without filling a separate form. It integrates with Member Registration Form as well as Comment Form seamlessly and let’s member or commentator choose to opt-in your mailing list.
This plugin is based on Guru CS‘s plugin which I never made to work with WordPress 3.x and aweber’s upgrade in forms. So, I decided to modify and upgrade to work with both the factors. I was using it for my own, but decided to to share it with other email marketers. If you like the plugin, please consider to donate or purchase the branding free version.

Installation:
Follow the instructions below to install and setup the plugin. I’ll add a video tutorial soon.
- Download plugin zip file from the email.
- Extract the zip in your hard drive. Upload the folder wpaweber in your blog’s plugin folder (“wp-content/plugins/”) and activate from Plugins Menu.
- Copy the Web Form ID and List Name from a existing aweber webform or create a new one. Go to the Aweber Admin menu on your blog and enter those details.
- Configure the plugin as you want and then Save Changes.
- Test it by making a comment yourself.

can this be used with mailchimp? aweber is too pricey for me:(
Sorry, this is for Aweber only. However, you can make it work with MailChimp with a few tweaks in the codes.
I notice now that everybody who comments on my site automatically gets added to my aweber list. It makes no difference whether I have the commenting checkbox checked or not…
I don’t understand this. How do I give people the option to subscribe? Without them getting added automatically?

Great plugin! What happens when a user is already subscribed? Do they get an error page or is it silent behind the sreens?
They’ll see the standard “Already Subscribed” page.

Yeah!! As long as that page is powered by wordpress and has a call for comments template.
It seems like configuring the plugin is straightforward and simple…so I feel like a ‘tard for having issues. I’ve searched and tried everything I can think of.
Does the “web form ID” look like this: ”af-form-1903317934″? or just the numbers “1903317934″?
Second, should the list name be in the form of an email address? (i.e. mylistname@aweber.com) Or just the list name (with no @aweber.com)

Very simple. It was my error. I had a “coming soon” page plugin turned on that was disabling it; similar to putting everything in “test mode.”

Plugin works great on Buddypress signup, excellent! This solves lots of problems for me.
One concern, I am using a multi site and see that subscribers have access to the settings admin area.
Anyway to block that?

This plugin requires heavy attention, but my work schedule isn’t permitting me.

Yes, unfortunately I just discovered a major conflict it was creating in Buddypress. What a pity.
It worked great but blocked blog creation.
Would be great to get some customization done for this eventually.

I would like to know if this plugin able to integrate Aweber opt-in with my site’s member registration page. I’m using WordPress and a theme which has its own member login page.

However, Esteban reported that it is not sending the registration email. I have not checked it yet due to my lack of free time.

Thanks for the swift reply.
I’ve tried it, it works on my comments submission but not my member registration page. I did not see any check box for them to opt for newsletter though I tick “subscribe on registration” at the backend/admin panel.
When someone commented on my post they will receive a verification email from Aweber but when someone register as member they do not receive any email except a password email from my site/theme.
Do I miss anything here? Please advise.

It won’t add any checkbox at the registration page..
The plugin was developed on WordPress 2.9. I guess I need to redo some of the codes again to make it work with version 3.x

It would be nice if it does so that a choice is given either to subscribe or not. But this is not a big issue as long as my Aweber send them a verification email and they could make their choice then.

It almost work. It adds registrants and commenters to the mailing list. That part is fine.
However, for those registering on the WP site does NOT send out the email with the password.
(Yes, I checked, without the plugin wordpress sends the mail…)
Do you have any idea why it doesn’t send the pw email? Or how to go around it?

Amazing plugin, I just loved. It is exactly what I was looking for.
There is one paid plugin like this, but pretty expensive to me, called Optin Comments – http://www.optincomments.com.
