How Long Google Takes to Reindex a Page
Say, your index page, or any page on your site crawled, indexed and cached by Google and then you change the page or the meta description. Then, how long does it take take for Googlebot to re-crawl the page and show the new meta description in Search Results?
Well, according to Matt Cutts, Google normally refresh it when they receive a sitemap ping with new “lastmodified” time. He also said, Google refreshes their index in every few days.
When a page gets updated very frequently with “important” content, it receives more frequent visits from Googlebot compared to the other pages which haven’t updated for long. He also mentioned that the PR of that page also taken into consideration while visiting the page.
My Suggestions:
Here are my suggestions on how you should proceed to get your pages indexed quickly
- If you need to change the description which Google shows on index, you should change the meta description as quickly as possible. Preferably within a few hours.
- Change the lastmodified time of your page on sitemap and ping it to Google.
- Always update your blog or website regularly with unique and quality content (“important”, that’s what Matt Cutts called).

I wish there was a way to request and save time
