Why You Need a Properly Coded Webpage
There are so many ugly looking websites in the Internet, yet they rank pretty good in search engines. Why? The reason is they have nicely coded webpages.
Why the clean codes matter?
A proper and cleanly coded website has all the on page elements necessary for a serp boost in place. Like, the meta tags, headings tag, layers, divs, tables etc. That helps search engines like Google to detect the important places like content area, navigation area on a webpage.
We all know that it is necessary for search engines to find the right context of your website in order to rank it for its keywords and it is possible only when you help them with proper technique.
On the other hand, poorly coded pages often have large number of tables, unclosed tables and divs, lots of nested tables and many other html errors. That will not only confuse bots to decide on what to index, but also generate bad user experience for a visitor.

The other benefits
There are several other benefits of a properly coded websites as far as I can recall;
- Fast pageload, which also helps in a better ranking as well as better user experience
- Makes it easy to find what visitors are looking for
- Easily Navigate within your website
- Increases content to code ratio that also increase the visibility of your content to search engines.
- Lot of other benefits..
How to check if you have a properly coded website?
Best tools to check your HTML and CSS are W3C HTML Validator and W3C CSS Validator. You need not to worry if that tool detects a few errors as Google and other search engines normally ignores some of the typical and common HTML and CSS errors.
Here is a video from Matt Cutts about how Google handles poorly coded websites.

my company website is not open properly in google chrome. it is working fine in firefox and IE browser. That’s what happens when you try to save money on programmer and they don’t do a good job. Lesson learned!
I have always been annoyed whenever I see a website that looks like it was designed in 1996 be on top of the searches.
