WordPress 3.1 Released as Stable
I just got a mailer from Matt Mullenweg, the core developer of WordPress that WordPress version 3.1 is finally released as stable. Well, it was a mass email and everybody on the newsletter might already received it by now.
Missed you on Valentine’s day. We were busy, busy, busy coding away on this WordPress thing. It’s blogging software but people have started using it for pretty much everything, powering their entire website.
The new 3.1 release is pretty cool, it has a new admin bar so you’re never more than one-click from your admin and adding links in the WYSIWYG is now like 42x faster and includes a lookup to make it easy to link to your own posts and pages.
There’s a ton more, actually, check it out:

This is definitely the best WordPress since the last time we released WordPress, and I sincerely hope you enjoy it and share it with your friends.
XOXO,
Matt
I immediately checked my wordpress dashboard and found nothing there. I mean, the notice which shows up when a new version of wordpress is available for download, was not there. However, it was present at the “WordPress Updates” menu page. (Check the screenshot below)

Anyway, it is a long due update from WordPress and the project is running late by over 2 months according to WordPress Version 3.1 Project Schedule.
So, let’s update our blogs once again for good
Update: The notice started showing up as soon as I published this post.

I’ve found WordPress 3.1 to be really good and stable so far. They’ve done quite an excellent job on it.
