Is Blogging Right For You?
This is another post from my attic. Like the previous post I made on All about Blogging, this article was lost while changing my PC. Hope you’ll like it too.
Given the craze of blogging, many people are asking themselves if blogging is something that would fit them? This post will ask some of the pertinent questions that a potential blogger should answer for themselves. For starters, do you enjoy writing? If so, then a blog is a great way for you to showcase your talents as a writer, and let others enjoy what you have to say. Blogging is all about writing, so if you despise writing, blogging will be something that you grow to hate, and you will probably be dissatisfied.

Secondly, are you thick skinned? No matter what topic a person blogs about there will also be someone to comment saying that they are wrong or have ridiculous ideas. There are always people out there who will hate on whatever a person does, blogging is no exception. Third of all, are you creative? Blogs require a lot of creativity to make them different and stand out to readers in the sea of other blogs that are available on the Internet. Creativity and writing are the main components of blogging, if a person has neither, then they will not enjoy blogging.
Consider the amount of time you are willing to invest in a blog. Many people who have daily blogs find that they spend a few hours everyday just reading the comments on the blog, as well as developing content and backlinks for the blog. For those who only want to spend a few minutes, blogging is not the best fit. Are you a self-starter? Blogs are made from scratch and there is no one there telling you what and when to get it done. Being able to pace yourself is vital to the success of the blog.
Is your talent in writing or speaking? Whichever you are better at will determine if you should write a blog or if you should video blog. Each are great ways to let your message be known, it all depends upon the bloggers preference. Most importantly, are you willing to be in the public spotlight? Successful blogs have been known to be featured on many peoples websites, thus people all over the world may see your blog. If you are not comfortable with being in the spotlight, then perhaps blogging is not the route for you.
Blogging is a great way for a person to get their feet wet in the Internet world. For those who are self-starters, have a love for writing, and have no problem with potentially being in the spotlight, then blogging may be the thing for them.
