How Much Can You Earn Blogging?

Those who are interested in blogging for money, often ask the question ‘How much can I make?’ This is a hard question to answer, as there are a lot of factors that affect the outcome. For starters, the traffic level of your blog will directly affect your earnings. This is a no brainier, the more traffic, the more money. Secondly, the type of readers of your blogs also play a huge factor. There are three types of readers: loyal readers, search engine readers and reference readers. If advertising indirectly or directly, loyal readers are much more likely to try the products that the blogger suggests. The search engine reader and the reference readers are both newcomers to the blog, so they are less likely to take the blogger at face value. Thus, more loyal readers the better your advertisements will be received.

Third of all, the topic of your blog has significant impact on the amount of money you make. This is not only because of the readership base, but different topics will open up different affiliates to work with. If your topic is on electronics, there are numerous affiliates that would love to advertise on your blog and give you money for it. However, if your topic is on prescription drugs there are few affiliates that would advertise. Thus, topic is vitally important.

The age of the blog will also have a lot to do with just how much you can earn blogging. Older blogs have a wider fan base when compared to new blogs. So the older blogs are making much more money and will only continue to make more. New blogs are starting from scratch. So if you are expecting to quit your day job and blog, you had better think twice. Time is also an important card in the blog game. If you can invest more time into the blog, you will find that you earn more money. Those, who just invest a few hours a day cannot expect to make enough money for a month. You get out what you put in.

So how much money can a person make blogging? The amount is different with each person. Some people have reported making as little as pennies a day, while others have reported to making thousands a month. Each person will find the amount differs with each blog. However, it is a possibility to make money with a blog. It depends entirely on what the person is willing to spend and the amount of time that they are willing to put in to find those dedicated readers to profit from.

  1. Hello Hiram
    Thanks for downloading the e-book.
No, not all the links in the book isn’t affiliate links. however, some of them are.

Installing a wordpress MU is easy like 1 2 3. Please refer the procedures mentioned in the book.
Yes, I did escaped the server side settings part.
It’s not a very though thing to do. If you are planning to create subdomains for blogs, just use the cPanel to create accounts for each of them and assign them the ipaddress.

Hostgator offers fully managed VPS servers and they’ll do it for you on request.
You need to contact them with full details and tell them what you want them to do.

  2. Hi Abhik,

I recently downloaded your ebook and finally got the chance to review.  I wasn’t expecting much since there are already so many “make money blogging” books out there.  However, I was pleasant surprised at the amount and quality of information in your book.  I definitely plan to implement some of your suggestions but I did have some questions.

First of all, I hope that the links in your book are affiliate links since I plan to purchase some of the plug-ins and move my current site from Godaddy to Hostgator.

My question dealt with the issue of hosting a WP multisite on a VPS service (Hostgator) and I wanted to make sure I understood correctly.  Do you recommend having ONE WordPress multisite that manages a number of subsites, EACH with a separate IP address mapped to it?  You mentioned getting a VPS account with up to 32 separate IP addresses but never mentioned exactly how to use the IP addresses.

I guess another way would be to have several subdomains on the VPS domain with separate IP addresses for each subdomain.  However, in this case, you’d have to have several installations of WP and will have to log into each instance in order to post content.

In keeping with your concept of autoblogging, am I thinking about this the right way?  I want to make sure I set things up correctly at the beginning.

Thanks in advance – and thanks again for your ebook.

    Hiram
