All About Blogging

This is another post from my attic. I wrote in on 26th November, 2006 and just forgot. Found it while checking my old PC and hope you’ll like it.

Blogging: What is it?
Blogging is a fairly new concept for some people. However, blogging has been around for a few years. For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, this post will try to explain the concept of blogging, as well as provide a few starter tips for beginners.

Blogging is basically a website that is maintained by one individual or a team. This individual or the team of individuals will post comments, reviews about places, or whatever else they fancy, for the entire world to see. Others refer to blogging as an online journal for everyone to see. Blogs cover a vast array of topics, many talk about their daily life and have those who follow it constantly. Others will post on a variety of subjects that help people or provide a different point of view.

The web log, otherwise known as blog, became known around 1998 and 1999. However, it did not reach its full potential until 2000. Now, blogs are everywhere on every type of subject imaginable. So how do you begin the exciting adventure of starting a blog? There are a few tips to begin with.

First, there are websites that allow people to get a free webpage to begin their blogging adventure. These sites will have a basic setup and are very user friendly as most people use these types of service for their beginning blogs. The layout for these are basically the same, so if you are looking for something to pop, these beginning services will not offer that. However, for those beginning on the blogging adventure, it is a perfect place to start.

Also, for those who are beginning to blog, find a topic that is your niche. Are you a stay at home mom who has unique ways to get your kids to eat those foods that typical kids refuse? Do you have abilities to save loads of money through your savvy shopping? All of these are things that people will want to know, thus they will follow your blog routinely. Finding that perfect niche will allow you to have a devoted fan base. There are blogs out there that are about routine, daily tasks, however they always have some sort of wisdom contained within them, or they are just fun to read for a good laugh.

Blogging is the new way to connect to people that you would otherwise never know. It’s a great way to pass on your wisdom and allow for people to step in your shoes via a short few paragraphs daily.
