Continuing from 7 Day WordPress Camp : Day 6
We are at the last day of the 7 Day WordPress Camp. Hope you already received your first click and got the first dollar at you Adsense Account.
We don’t have anything left to build except backlinks and promotion of our new blog. Traffic is what makes it all. Without traffic, your blog is of no use. Let’s build some traffic today.
Traffic can be obtained in both ways. Either paid traffic (by using PPC or PPV etc) or the organic way. Organic traffic means who come from search engines or similar organic way. SEO is the best option to get huge amount of highly targeted traffic. Let’s see how we can do it.
Off Page SEO: We will be talking about Off Page SEO today (Onpage SEO is already discussed on WordPress Camp: Day 4). Offpage SEO is mainly consists of Link Building. We’ll now have a look at the legal ways to build links. Legal ways means white hat method which is approved by search engines.

- Link Exchange: The old school method of link building which still pays. Here, you link to a website and that website links you back in return. There is also Three Way Link Building, where you link to website and the webmaster of that website links you back from another website.
- Directory Submission: This is the best method to get one way backlinks. Here you submit your blog to web directories in proper category. The webmaster of the directory reviews your blog and approve it. Then your listing goes live. Here is a good list of web directories. The drawback is that major portion of the directory links are counted as substandard.
- Article Submission: Same as directory submission. The difference is here you submit an article to the directory with backlinks to your blog.
There are other ways to build backlinks, but they are not as easy as those above and require extra work.
Non-targeted organic traffic: Social Bookmarking Sites (like, Digg, Stumbleupon) and Social Networking Sites (Like Orkut, Facebook) can also send huge amount of organic traffic. The problem with this kind of traffic is they are non-targeted and may not click on the ads. Though I have seen some blogs are doing pretty good with traffic from social bookmarking sites. What you need to do is to bookmark your blog in those social bookmarking sites and ask people to promote or vote it. The higher it goes with votes, the more traffic it sends.
We now have a killer blog with lots of earning potential running on autopilot. Give it some time and see the cash flows in your Adsense Account.
